...
in order to change DEFAULT SOUND/MIDI SETTINGS follow this guide,

https://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/audio-midi-setup-your-macs-secret-sound-manager

hope it helps you

Unfortunate it does not; driver always seems to initialize at 96kHz.

Hey Guys - this is no workaround ! This is the Normal WAY ! Never switsch off a running system !
Always boot the Jockey with disconnected Hardware and then connect via USB.

Thanks Sigo, I hear what you say. Of course no one want to switch of a running system, especially not on stage, but disconnect of USB cable or power loss DO sometimes happen, and it is important to know how to quickly recover from that. That's why I also carry a simple Native Instruments Audio-2 interface as backup device.

I can certainly live with the work around of first booting the Jockey and after that connecting it via USB. I do not agree this is/should be the "Normal" way.  Matthias' instructions also clearly indicate otherwise: first connect device and THEN switch it on!

...
-disconnect the controller, reboot your mac, reconnect the controller and switch it on
...

Still smiling having my Jockey-3 running on MacOS Sierra and no need to re-boot into Mavericks (will still keep my alternative boot option around for live gigs, but easier for day-to-day use at home).

Thanks for the new (working) MacOS Sierra driver!

Cheers,
Frank.

Hi all, I followed all in this post (with user hints).

Traktor Pro (2.11) worked, and Ableton (9.7) worked with Jockey 3ME as selected soundcard, and I could also play Audio directly from itunes/online/etc on my Mac (Sierra, 11.12)

After a while I wanted to quite Traktor (standard Quit) ...

A message with a time-bar appeared saying "Flushing Background-Tasks". From NI forum: happens on both Win/Mac when Traktor dislike a background process. Personally I newer seen it before.  Well, Traktor stalled, and I had to force Quit.

I did a reboot of Jockey 3me and MAC to test....Result:

- Jockey 3Me Power led (in between faders) is blinking constantly. Start after Power Cycle
- Ableton - NO sound (Jockey 3ME Core selected, output set)
- Traktor Pro works (midi and audio)... !?!?!?!....with Power LED blinking
- MAC - NO sound unless from Traktor ....Audio/Midi settings are Jockey 3ME.... ?!?!?

I tried to re-install FW in Jockey 3ME, I tried all combination of Jockey 3ME Power on/off with USB Cable as suggested, reboot MAC ...no difference

Well, Traktor is fine, but I need Jockey Soundcard available for Ableton/MAC - and it is truly odd it works on Traktor only, plus the blinking power led seems like error too (no mention in manual).

Any experience/know-how/suggestions?

Sounds like you did not quit or finish the firmware update, the controller is probably still in firmware update mode - that's why the power LED is flashing.

Hi, something new??? i use the reloop to work and i cant still without used to match time!...

I found that for my setup/configuration the new beta driver is working great under MacOS Sierra, although some small issues to be aware of as user but can be worked around. See above in this thread for details.

If you could provide some more detailed information on your setup/configuration, and your specific issues (what is working?, what not?, under what conditions? etc.) the Reloop support team or others in this forum may be able to help you out.
Good luck!
Frank.

Not clear to me what is working/what is not. As you said "all succeed" my understanding is that you're saying that all is working except for the VU meters.

1st question:
- do the vu meter LEDs light up during the power-on LED test sequence?
If not this suggests a hardware error and you should have your controller serviced.
If they do light up as expected it is probably a mapping issue with the software you're using.

Other test you perform: on my Jockey-3 Remix the VU meters also work if device is used in stand-alone mode, ie. without computer, mixing external sources.

When using with computer: the VU meters are controlled via MIDI commands, so your software should be configured to send appropriate messages -- for my J3RMX these are Note events A1/A-1 -- the Traktor mapping provided by Reloop nicely pre-configures this!

Success!
Frank

Your hardware setup is almost identical to what I'm using. Are you also running (latest/current) MacOS Sierra 10.12.3?

Understand from your description that:
a/ the MIDI controls are working fine as you can control Traktor from your Reloop Jockey 3 Remix.
b/ no sound output from the Jockey.

This sounds very familiar to some of the scenarios I've encountered during my testing.

Can you please go though following steps and confirm result for each of them?

#0 -  Confirm version of MacOS you're running and if you have performed the firmware update/driver install as explained at start of this topic.

#1 - Power Off your Reloop Jockey-3 Remix and disconnect USB cable; Power-on your MacBook if not already running.

#2 - Confirm in the OSX "Audio MIDI Setup" that under "audio devices" Jockey is NOT present, and that under "midi studio"  the Jockey 3 Remix device is inactive.

#3 - Power up your Jockey-3 Remix; make sure USB is NOT connected to your MacBook! You should see the boot/self-test led pattern on your Jockey. Wait till this boot is completed (few sec).

#4 - Connect the Jockey-3 with a USB cable directly to one of the USB ports on the side of your MacBook -- no HUB.

#5 - OSX should detect the device and install the drivers. Go in the OSX "Audio MIDI Setup" and check if the Jockey is shown under audio & MIDI devices. In my case I see two audio devices: Jockey-3 Remix (Bit Accurate) and (Core Audio).

#6 - Select in the Audio MIDI setup the audio device, and click "configure speakers..." to perform a basic self-test of the driver/communications.
   Configure:
   Left Front = OUT 1
   Right Front  = OUT 2
   Left Surround = OUT 3
   Right Surround = OUT 4

"Front"  = your master out; "Surround" is your headphone output
Click on each of the speakers to perform a test of that channel. You should hear some noise generated. --> if you hear the noise when clicked that is a good sign since driver is able to send audio to the Jockey and Jockey hardware is configured properly

#7 - Launch Traktor, configure:
   > In Audio Setup select "Jockey 3 Remix"
   > In Output Routing set Output Monitor to OUT3, OUT4 and Output Master to OUT1,OUT2

#8 - Play some music from Traktor using your Jockey.

Hope you'll be able to make it through all steps and end up with working setup. Looking forward for your response/feedback and (detailed) results.

regards,
Frank.

Hi Reloop_Matze or All,

First of all I was really happy to read that the developers are working on the issue regarding to the driver for ME3 on Sierra! Good news and I hope the final official release date is very close! :-)

Regarding to the beta driver issue I have some questions:

1. Is there any planned release date of official driver release for Jockey ME3 on MacOS Sierra since it is still a beta version?

2. If I upgrade the Jockey ME3 firmware to this new version (comes with this beta driver version) will it work properly with my other system (Windows 7 USB 2.0)? If not is there any possibility to downgrade back the firmware to v18? Unfortunately currently I could not upgrade on Windows system because it said Upgarde failed...
Currently the controller working fine on Windows 7 system with firmware v18 but every time I use it first a I have to reinstall the driver otherwise there won't be any sound in controller outputs. Anyway do you have any solution for this issue? To be honest I am afraid to upgrade the firmware because if it is not working afterwhile I could not use the controller neither of the systems... :-( (it means that I won't have any plan B...)

3. I am just wondering why a new controller firmware version was required and I assume that it should handle the USB 3.0 issue with Mac so if I buy an USB HUB 2.0 and using this beta driver on Mac theoretically it should work without firmware upgrade!? Am I thinking right?

4. Is there any working ME3 driver for Mac OS El Capitan? The USB2.0 vs USB3.0 compatibility issue is handled on El  Capitan or should I need an USB HUB 2.0 on El Capitan too??

Thank you for your answers!

Kind Regards,
Pete

Hi,

I am trying to update the firmware of the RMX 3 and I don't manage to see the dialog of the installer. it just appears as a white square.

I've also tryed with a previous tool (UsbUpgDataApp_v1.10.jar) but it says time out error

What I can do to move forward?

Thanks!

Marc
